Change

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” ~Maria Robinson

It is horrible tragedy what happened at Virginia Tech University this past week and it really makes me sad and fearful when I think about the future of this world.

The day after this senseless massacre took place I was driving down a busy street in my parents’ neighborhood. This white SUV a hundred yards in front of me swerves and pulls into the opposite lane almost jumping onto the sidewalk hitting two kids that were walking down the street. As this was happening, the car doors of the SUV are opening and two teenage kids jump out hollering and chasing the kids on the sidewalk that had started to run away. I am driving by this scene and noticed an adult in the passenger side of the SUV and couldn’t believe that this was happening. Luckily there was not an accident with the on coming traffic and who knows what happened to those kids.

All this violence and negativity can be so discouraging and sad, unless you are able to see what is positive in this world. I choose and work hard to see what is good in this world and in my life and I hope that more people can do the same. May your day be happy and the hard times be manageable, for we only have a short time here, so we should try and make the best of it.

Peace

Michelle

March New Release

This painting is called Envy and it is the first in a series of seven. If you take a minute I am sure you will be able to figure out what the next six might be of. My initial intention with this painitng was to highlight the beautiful wood grain and see where it went. As I did that, I began to see faces, so I worked them into the composition. After some time went by and conversation with some friends, there it was, one of the seven deadly sins, Envy. Let me know what you think!
